Peer Reviewer Process

All manuscripts submitted to Beacon: International Journal of Education and Social Studies (BEACON) undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities remain confidential throughout the review process.

Initial Manuscript Evaluation

Every submitted manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to assess its suitability, originality, scientific contribution, formatting, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal requirements or contain major scientific weaknesses may be rejected at this stage.

Reviewer Assignment

Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation will be assigned to at least two independent reviewers who have expertise in the relevant field of study. Reviewers are selected based on their academic qualifications, research background, and publication experience.

Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript objectively and professionally based on several aspects, including:

  • Originality and novelty of the research
  • Scientific quality and methodology
  • Clarity of analysis and discussion
  • Relevance to the field of education and social sciences
  • Completeness of references and citations
  • Language quality and readability

Reviewers provide recommendations to the editor in one of the following categories:

  • Accept Submission
  • Minor Revisions Required
  • Major Revisions Required
  • Reject Submission

Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and suggestions. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified revision period. The revised manuscript may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

Final Decision

The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection is made by the editor based on reviewers’ recommendations, manuscript quality, and compliance with journal standards.

Confidentiality and Ethical Standards

All manuscripts and review communications are treated confidentially. Reviewers must not disclose or use unpublished materials for personal benefit. The journal follows the ethical standards and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
