The Role of School Principals’ Transformational Leadership in Promoting Technology-Based Learning Innovation Among Teachers at SD Negeri 2 Pagar Kaya

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the principal’s transformational leadership in encouraging technology-based learning innovation among teachers at SD Negeri 2 Pagar Kaya. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques were conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and educational staff as informants. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the principal’s transformational leadership plays an important role in encouraging technology-based learning innovation through motivation, exemplary behavior, support, and opportunities for teachers’ professional development. The learning innovations implemented by teachers include the use of laptops, projectors, learning videos, digital media, the internet, and interactive boards in the learning process. Supporting factors for innovation include principal support, teacher motivation, and the availability of technological facilities, while inhibiting factors include limited infrastructure, differences in teachers’ digital competencies, and limited internet access. This study concludes that the principal’s transformational leadership contributes positively to creating an innovative and adaptive school culture toward technological developments, thereby encouraging teachers to develop technology-based learning creatively and sustainably.
